You ever wish you could get something and more or less have it - TopicsExpress

You ever wish you could get something and more or less have it land in your lap? I always loved games that involve crafting stuff, as opposed to it being given to you, or just beating up enemies and taking it from them. I ran across minecraft and loved it for a while, but then realized the game is too simple. With minimal effort any threat from the enemies can be effectively neutralized. Then I tried Space Engineers which doesnt even have enemies. bleh. Making your own space ship is fun and all, but if theres nothing to blast with it, all youre doing is building and setting things aside. Then I saw 7 Days to Die on sale on Steam a couple of days ago and got it. I heard this game was tougher than many like it, but that was an understatement. In many games, you defend your door and youre safe in your home. In this game, the zombies will tear down your walls to get you and if you dont build your house with enough support, the roof can cave in and you die. and fairly often you find yourself doing battle with an entire horde of them. Personally, I would have called this game S**t Happens, The Game. A hit from a zombie could leave you with an infection, or make you bleed out, at which point if you dont have antibiotics for the infection, or a bandage to stop the bleeding, youre screwed, and dying wont help you, as you have a wellness stat that declines if you go without food or water, stay sick for too long, or die. And of course, wellness dictates your maximum health and stamina. yay. Beyond that, if you decide to go mining, you gotta make sure your mine doesnt collapse on your head. This game will troll the crap out of you, and to make it even more trollish, some things you cant make unless you can find a book to teach it to you, and where would they all be but inside of the city, where the zombie infestation is the thickest. Food is scarce, water is contaminated, and you wake up with nothing but your underwear and a small backpack. Its not Nintendo hard, but its pretty damn close. For a zombie survival game, its definitely interesting.
