You gotta pass through here if you are to go to all nations every tribe & tongue! Must say Id gladly go this route rather than eat chicken heads & legs (- no not that leg, but the actual thin red leg with the paw @ the end of it), a delicacy no doubt here in the Transkei where no part of the animal goes to waste, @ the last feast of lamb I ate again parts of the head that I didnt want to think about, then the stomach lining with the green of the chewed grass on it. All this, so as not to offend the host, is possible because Shofar taught me well on this aspect of mission work (they half-joke that in East Africa they roll the meatballs under the armpits, & the brave missionaries sanctify the food to their bodies with GRACE. Together with the dear mission-working students @ Shofar, Stellenbosch I participated in a braai that we were invited to in Malawi, & altho it was patently obvious that it was a dog on the braai, we all partook, even these Stellenbosch girls from the cream of Afrikaans society, well I guess after the fat cockroach darted across our groaning table laden with food that had to be consumed, brought from the kitchen that was almost in total darkness, they were able to throw caution to the winds with a prayer & contentedly partake.
