Our societal attitude towards the poor is just madness. A putrid, - TopicsExpress

Our societal attitude towards the poor is just madness. A putrid, punitive and perplexing perspective. We treat our poor like lepers, we talk about them with a burning and blatant disdain in our media and political dialogue that would be unthinkable if it was about race or gender. People talk about food stamps like it’s some frivolous and oppressive program. You know what’s oppressive? Malnutrition and food insecurity for children. It ultimately stems from our perspective on the rich. We idolize the wealthy bourgeois with titles like ‘job creator’ that stroke people’s spiritual schemas, so they cement the wealthy with the association of creation. Capitalists do not create our livelihoods, in reality it is the mass of consumers who make the livelihood for the capitalists. There is a reason Ford paid him employees enough to afford his products, enough to live off; it is just sound economics. One does not have to be a ‘bleeding heart liberal’ to see the economic wisdom in a thriving middle class and opportunities for social mobility, that is the engine of American prosperity. Without the people there is no power to wield. Without awareness the people relinquish all their power to the greedy few who have an insatiable thirst for it. Time to begin reclaiming our wages, our freedoms and our rights from these transnational corporations who pledge no allegiance to any nation or worker. Corporations with more power and profit than many nations. Corporations who control politicians from every party and every parliamentary chamber on the globe. Corporations who have crushed the contract between worker and company. Corporations who have stolen the wealth and wages of all to make a few people disgustingly wealthy. Corporations who have shattered the rungs of our social ladder, so that the only mobility most of us can expect is downward while we are plummeting. Labor rights are women rights. Labor rights are civil rights. Labor rights are human rights. End corporate slavery.
