You have heard me say it time and time again, “fail to plan and plan to fail!” I always have a personal plan. I love to design plans but more exciting than that is following them to see how they pan out. I have designed and tested probably over a hundred plans since I became a health & fitness professional. One thing I have learned – if you don’t have a plan, you are more likely to fail. Why always a plan and set goals? Because it keeps you focused, motivated, and makes life exciting. It builds character and you learn something new about yourself on every journey you take. Goals are fun! Goals are different too. It doesnt, and shouldnt, be all about the scales. What about walking or running a local race? What about doing an epic long hike? What about learning a new sport? What about joining a local recreation club? What about experimenting with different types of diets, like vegan or paleo? Or take a cooking class? How about soul searching? Goals are different for everyone but you should always have something happening that you desire to keep you focused. Right now, my personal goal for 2014 is to increase my mountain biking and cyclocross skills and participate in as many events as I can. Because I’m passionate about this goal, I need to eat, train, and rest properly. This goal helps me make better choices in my life as I want to be successful. I am focused, excited, and driven. Now, go ahead and feel free to share you current goal that you are focused on. It will inspire others that dont have one yet.
