In the past year alone, Sustainable Sandhills has: -Provided educational Farm Tours to 640+ youth in partnership with Fayetteville-Cumberland Parks & Recreation. -The Green Schools program assisted with $400,000+ in cost reduction for Cumberland County Schools -Diverted 11.47 tons of e-waste in Cumberland County. -Trained 33 middle-schoolers to be Farmers Market Entrepreneurs at the City Market. -Held three #PopUpFAY events attended by 367 people to create an adventurous local Fayetteville food scene. -Certified 21 Green Businesses in the eight county region. -Hosted six Green Film screenings on important topics to the Sandhills community: the hydrofracking industry, coal ash spills, and the fight for justice for survivors and victims of the military Camp Lejeune water contamination. We still have more to do!
