You have the right to be weak sometimes. You have the right to be - TopicsExpress

You have the right to be weak sometimes. You have the right to be tired. You have the right to not enjoy any aspect of this life that you did not choose. I had to bear this in mind this morning as I dragged myself to an appointment with Zidane that used up all of my physical and mental energy reserves. I dont hide my exhaustion. I told Zidanes consultant that I am tired, and by tomorrow I will have forgotten everything we have discussed. Shes accustomed to me and so she had already pencilled in an appointment time to call me and re-discuss todays meeting. Sometimes we are so used to being strong that we dont even admit to ourselves when we are not. We feel guilt about admitting to not enjoying or managing any aspect of our role as parents, much less special needs parents because we feel it to be a reflection of how much we love our children. It isnt. I am not infallible. I am not superwoman. And thats ok.
