You know, I always say that the reason that Democrat politicians get away with saying some of the things they do is because their follower are too stupid to remember what they said just yesterday. We got another example of that last night with Obama’s Rape of the Union speech where he took credit for falling gas prices. He said, “We believed we could reduce our dependence on foreign oil and protect our planet. And today, America is number one in oil and gas, and thanks to lower gas prices and higher fuel standards, the typical family this year should save $750 at the pump.” Now, I’m sure that any of his followers remember what he said just over 4 ½ years ago after the BP oil spill. But luckily for you, you have me to remind you! He had this to say, “For decades we’ve known the days of cheap and easily accessible oil were numbered.” Did he not tell us that to bring gasoline prices down is not a problem that we can drill our way out of? Well, we just did! As I told another ding-a-ling not too long ago that Obama has done nothing to give us cheaper gasoline costs. Gasoline has come down in spite of him through a process called “fracking” taking place on private lands. If Obama were to get his hands on those private lands, you can bet your last dollar that he’d shut that down as he has so many other areas. More regulations have been put in place on oil companies, not only through the EPA, but as I wrote back in 2010, Interior Secretary, Ken Salazar, announced that the Obama Regime will be expanding environmental reviews before leasing federal land to the oil and gas industry for the privilege of extracting the energy we all need. Basically, the number of leases given to oil companies to drill on public land has been cut nearly in half. Obama has also vetoed the XL Keystone pipeline about three or four times, and is threatening to veto it again! When he was first running for president back in 2008 when gas prices spiked that summer, he didn’t lay down any plan to bring gas prices down. No, instead he said, “I think that I would have preferred a gradual adjustment.” Gas prices have come down in spite of him; not because of him. But please; don’t take my word for it. Here is Obama’s Energy Secretary, Steven Chu.
