You know I say things the way I see them and who get mad that is their business but I will speak out. When Mrs. Elka Charles-Simmons a Saban was removed as Director of the Saba Comprehensive School I did not hear and read all the hypocritical statements that is now being shared. I for one is not in this talk about a decision that the board made not to renew the contract of the present director and some teachers. The board should havd their reasons why they made such a decision. people it is not the first time that directors contracts were not renewed and I never head so much commotion like now. there has beejne many directors whos contrats were not renvewed and I have never seen any of them go to the media making all kind of nonsensical statements as if they were Jesus Christ and could not be touched. Yes Mr. Mommers, Mr. Tonkens, Mr. Roach, Ms. Hassell, Mrs. Field and I forgot the other Suriname lady name but all of their contracts were not renewed at some point and nobody made any issues like now. I am convinced that the present school board is competent, capable, responsible and educated enough to know that at the start of the new school year they must have a Director and teachers in place. Why would a school board not renew contracts if they know in advance they cannot find a director and teachers. Being a former school board member myself and also president I know what it takes in finding good teachers to fall into the system that we have here on Saba. In my opinion the school board has the best interest of our Saban children at heart just like everyone else. Not because some of them do not have a child or children going to school there I dont think they are doing this for any self gain dance. This is all voluntary work. And those that is critical of the school board should jump on board and then show what they can do. It is easy to criticize people that are working and willing to give up their free time to devote to these type of institutions. I would say this board is a good board and has shown that they can take a lot of criticism in a positive manner. .
