You know how in high school there was always that one couple that everyone said those two will be together forever. That was me and this girl and the strange thing is the girl was a year older than me, a class ahead of me, and went to a different school. We were that powerful of a couple that we were well known in two schools in two different Chicago suburbs. One day we had a minor disagreement nothing that wouldnt have sorted itself out. So I handled it in a very mature manner. I took off, went 2,500 miles to visit my parents and told them Im just visiting, got to go, I enlisted. Three years later this song comes out and I hear it for the first time fresh back from a deployment. That line, soldier boy kisses girl, leaves behind a tragic world I cant help but feel a little weird.
