You know...i love my job....I love the history of the Corps...but there are days when it weighs heavily....I was looking up several Marines today, all from one small city, that were killed in Vietnam. One was only 18 and had only been in country for about two weeks. another was part of a small team that was ambushed. all 7 Marines from that team were KIA...five of them were shot execution style....I think of all my friends who are Vietnam veterans. i think about the friends they left behind, who never had the chance at a life beyond Vietnam.....such morose thoughts for a friday evening.....
