You know what ticks me off----these overrated, narcissistic self styled big reggae artistes---more like arthritis----from Jamaica who travel to do shows abroad. No single one could ever pull 50,000 people in a venue ----could not even get people to attend a free show in Central Park---yet they want promoters to shell out thousands in hard dollars for mediocre performances. The same thing they do to the Executive Producers when asked even to voice an instrumental track---wanting to charge an arm and a leg as if they were the equals of a Michael Jackson, UB40 or even a Janet Kay. Most times we shelf the records because they are just not commercially viable materials. Somebody needs to tell these clowns that until they can command some record sales of at least 250,000 copies---they do not make much sense and are but big fishes in their tiny Jamaica pond. I can guarantee that if you mention many of their names in Times Square, Trafalgar Square or any serious place in Europe --no one would recognize them--no brand recall. As for me, not one of them could stick me up with a gun and order me to attend their circus for free---not going to happen---even if they paid me. It is always the same old boring performance---as if everyone studied a performance template and regurgitate it. My best concerts are kids talent shows and Karaoke bars---at least some sound a lot better that the off-key crap these so called professional artistes put out for peoples money.
