You may of heard news about some people in the area that live a km away and across the river from AARS. They have commented that our rescues make to much noise. We could comment everytime they do or play a copy of our videos every time they do, but this site and our rescue is of a positive nature and wed like to keep it that way. I will, just this once, clarify for those wondering... For those of you that have not had the chance to visit Angels, you should know that we work very hard to maintain a clean and loving environment. We have since 2008 continued to maintain and improve our facilities as we believe our rescues deserve the best we can afford. (Your donations are graciously appreciated). We are a 27 acre parcel of land with legal zoning for that of a kennel and non profit society. Most of the dogs we rescue are large, unsocialized and untrained. Our dogs come to the AARS facility, home of Judanna and George Caros, because most people wanting to foster choose small breeds and may not have the time it takes to work with a large rescued dog. The dogs we rescue are incredible but sometimes just need something a little bit special and skilled people to assist them in learning how to fit into family life. Many of the dogs we rescue have lived their lives at the end of a chain,( have experienced other forms of neglect) and that is all they know. We provide large yards for them with the company of other k9s so they can run and play while AARS seeks loving homes for them. Our dogs will bark occasionally while playing or alerting us and even howl sometimes at the hatchery alarms or sirens passing by, this however only lasts for minutes. We know everyone has their own toleration level and we respect this. (Those that live across the river are not always quiet and I have had to exercise my own toleration). We do not allow our rescues to bark all night long (and they dont), they have comfortable indoor shelters (thanx to Pepsi). We rescue dogs and dogs have a voice that humans call bark. A dead dog is one that will never bark. Even though our main priority is the safety and happiness of our rescues, majority of animals rescued from the Thompson Nicola region, our second are the human interests involved. We have implemented many aids that decrease the barking of those that have not settled, as an effort to resolve any noise issues these 6 homes, have expressed. We have visiting hours 12-4 to limit the amount of traffic at AARS, we have sound barriers in place between each pen, and much more. AARS is operated by respectful and responsible folks yet it only takes one negative comment to create a wave that can damage the reputation of a well built society. Our rescue center has not only enriched the lives of those animals rescued, but families that have adopted and groups and individuals that visit and enjoy the company of previously neglected dogs. We will always operate honestly, respectfully and appropriately. That being said we understand there can always be opposition in anything, anyone does. We will continue to strive to do our best for the rescued animals and humans involved, associated and effected by AARS. Thankyou to everyone that supports and believes in Angels
