You must love the Lord your God with all your heart, all your soul, all your strength, and all your mind. And, love your neighbor as yourself. Luke 10:27 This scripture is found within the story of the good Samaritan. The Bible is full of wonderful parables that we can use in our daily lives, and they help to illustrate moral lessons that should be common sense. Today is a special day here at Wesley House. From 10: a.m. until 2:00 p.m., we are having our Fun Festival of Health, Help and Healing, located on our Playground for Jesus. We love to give back to the community and we are hoping to reach many folks that may need a little kindness and support right now. The main reasons we are dedicating our Saturday to this cause is to increase literacy, help folks to become more aware of their health issues and to update them on the services we offer here at Wesley House Community Center. There will be storytelling and book reading, games and prizes, book give-aways for all ages, plus some nursing students will be doing free blood pressure and diabetes checks. Come grab you a bag of popcorn and take advantage of this gorgeous weather. Walk around the playground, visit with folks and, if youd like, we are selling our new CD, The HymnSinger and one-of-a-kind pins made especially for Wesley House (both the CD and the pins are $15 each, with all the proceeds donated directly back to Wesley House).
