You must question why. If you do not question why, then you are acting without thinking. If you are acting without thinking then you are living in patterns created in the past. If you are living in patterns in the past you will never form a new reality. Look into your every action, are you doing things which are benefitting you, things which you are doing because of your own will. Or are you following a set routine that led somebody else somewhere you dont necessarily want to be going, or actions which served them but are not serving you. Once a Mother was asked by her daughter why she cut the end of her chicken off before she put it in the pan, and she said; “Hmmm I dont know... Its what my mother used to do.” So she went to her grandmother and asked; why did you cut off the end of the chicken? and she said; “Its what my mother used to do”. So she went to visit her Great Grandmother and asked why did you cut off the end of the chicken? And her Great Grandmother replied; “Because the pan was too small”.
