You think this isnt socialist medicine?! My husband, 70 years old, is on Medicare and has been for quite a while. He is legally blind. About 6 months ago, Medicare decided they needed extra written proof (authorization) from the doctor before they would pay for a certain medication that my husband has been on for many years- it happens to be at a little higher dose than usual. That in itself aggravated me- the written prescription should be all the authorization the insurance folks need. It gets better- Today, Medicare ( which may as well be called Obamacare)- is refusing to pay for this medication regardless of what the doctor says! My husband happens to need this medication- all kinds of bad things will happen if he doesnt get it! Im telling you- 70 years old seems to be the magic number for when this government thinks your life is no longer important. And if you think that they will even provide palliative care- you better think again. You will be lucky to get a damn aspirin! Is this what we want for our mothers, fathers, grandparents and you some day?
