“You transform all who are touched by you” – this quote has been dear to me for ages it seems but the depth of it was only understood once I experienced it! 10th of August, 2013 - ‘Funday’ was what they decided to name the event. They who you ask? They’re the Sai Warriors. A bunch of youths – ordinary kids I’d say… all of them dressed in royal blue on that day. It wasn’t the color that caught my eye but the message they were carrying on their t-shirts (and in their hearts) - “Our Life Is HIS Message- We Love You”. Each face was filled with extraordinary zeal, almost illuminating the entire Novotel Conference Hall. I’ll narrate the little I know of this event. This ‘little’ was just enough to touch the heart of all those present. So I learn that this event has been happening for the past 5 years. And the simple motto of the day is to bring smiles on the faces of God’s little angels who have been somewhat deprived. They are whom we know as the “special kids”. This year the homes present were School of Blind, Gospel School of Deaf, Hilton Home, St. Christopher’s and Dilkusha Girls. Upon arrival, these kids also seemed very comfortable with the hosts. It just reconfirmed to me that this bonding was a result of these youths’ consistent love and effort. They say happiness is contagious! True indeed! Guaranteed there could not have been any single soul present in the hall whose spirit wasn’t bloomed with hope and divine grace. The feel was that of utter bliss There were an array of activities arranged for the guests. I must say special care had been taken to accommodate each one on the invited list – as if the word ‘disability’ was left outside the door. There were snacks as well as lunch. How could I not mention the milkshake corner and the dessert … it was like a festival, only better! There was something that was constantly bugging me. I wanted to know who was this ‘HIS’ that these youths are so in love with to hold such a grand event for. After a chat with one of these blessed youths and after all the stories this person shared with me about SAI, all that remained with me was “Hands that Serve are Holier than Lips that Pray”. Sai is my Hope. These youths have taught me to stop looking for something out there and begin seeing within. Love Anonymous “On the path of Love we are neither masters nor the owners of our Lives.
