Your Excellencies Uhu Ruto, I hope this message finds you well. I heard the KNUT chairman Mr. Wilson Sosion on citizen breakfast show today and I was convinced thus; The president/Deputy should change their hearts and have the Laptop-for-kids project postponed for at least one year and allocate the resources to clearing this issue with our teachers. I love this laptop thing with passion. I do not buy the idea that we do not need it because of poor classrooms, lack of basic needs by the kids etc etc.We need it like now! I believe that with all our problems, time for ICT at a tender age is now for a bright future. I believe that a child with empty stomach can still want to learn just like our parents (who are the holders of big offices and policy makers today) used firewood to read their notes with empty stomachs. My plea however for postponement arise from the fact that our budget is so much constrained and budget process demands at such situations, some items could be postponed. To me the best item to be postponed is the Laptop item. It is a very brilliant idea whose time has come and I give the president credit for it but I beg him to postpone for the best interest of the Nation now.
