The island nurse was transferred to the dive boat and Sligo CG heli R118 winched him onboard. Confirmed dead on arrival at Castlebar. This is the fifth death diving in about a month which is a horrendous casualty rate given our low number of actual dives. Can any divers out there opine as to what may be a root cause as this terrible spike is unexpected and very very tragic? We have our own opinions but would like to hear from sport divers out there.
