Youve heard the phrase everything you really ever needed to know you learned in kindergarten? Training horses is a little like that. You can teach the horse all sorts of amazing things because of their incredible intelligence and sensitivity, but so much of that is just more stuff. The basics of understanding bit (or halter) pressure and communicating to the horses feet can be something that plagues a horse in a subtle or not so subtle way for a lifetime. I ALWAYS go back to the same foundation I start my young horses with.... all the way back to the understanding they should have built as a foal if need be.
