ZIONISM AND AMERICAN POLITICS (from the archives at suspectedmilitant) As a consequence of our benevolent acceptance of hundreds of thousands of displaced Jewish refugees in the wake of WWII, who quickly centralized into the urban centers of our most densely inhabited cities, Hebrew tradition and western influence converged in the wholesale theft of Arab land in the case of Palestine, and the subsequent legitimization of the Zionist cause in the U.S. politisphere. As many are beginning to realize against the backdrop of endless schizophrenic conflict in the middle east, and the un-antenuated American involvement, we may have made a very serious mistake. Our cold-war era thinking and holocaust sympathies led us to rally to the recognition of Israel as an independent nation state. On the one hand, we had to beat Russia to the punch. Back then, the thought of Communist paramountcy in the Arab world was plenty enough fodder for the propaganda mills to keep our grandparents terrified. On the other hand, Hitlers atrocities provided the basis for emotionally charged appeals to public sentiment, essentially providing a color-by-number campaign strategy for any ambitious political candidates foolhardy enough to run. We ignored the protests of Palestinians, who had lived and thrived for two thousand years. We began overthrowing the rulers of other countries, and installing our own, shoring up support for our strategic intentions (read oil interests) under the misleading banner of the promotion and defense of Democracy. The certainty of moral authority became the buttress of corrupt behavior and reproachable outcomes. The discovery of America, and the all-out scramble to claim its bounty that proceeded amongst the European elite, produced a complex among kings and captains that the key to success in the increasingly competitive world began with real-estate. This view is evidenced in the ridiculous spans of geographically disproportionate influence that emerged over the following five hundred years: The British Empire in India, Portugal in South America, France in the Asiatic peninsula, and the U.S. in the Philippines...Its no wonder kids struggle with history; illustrating these psychotic imperialist episodes on a globe would drive anyone to distraction. Conveniently, the establishment of Israel was one of the final tales in the old world methods of globalization. If a century of Imperialism was a scoop of ice cream, we may safely picture Israel as the cherry on top of a five scoop bloody sundae. There is a reason why European and American efforts to cultivate influence and exploit resources suddenly began encountering turbulence in the mid twentieth century: Arabs didnt want to pay the price for Hitlers crimes. We (the West) made the arrogant and insane decision that we would help the Jews by giving them land that belonged to someone else. We cleaned and oiled our guns and made it so. We did so with righteous cries of altruistic confidence, favoring the Jew over the Arab, not upon reasoned arguments, evidence and analysis, but upon the mountains of campaign-driven theocratic slobber-babble, deliberate deception and diversion, and basic xenophobia- we knew the Jews better than we knew the Arabs. Consider how Canada would react if a few million Mexicans descended upon Crown Victoria claiming pre-Incan ascendance through a nomadic band of wanderers transiting the bearing straight and northwestern coasts, proceeded to declare sovereignty, and were backed immediately by promise of U.S. force. What if Wal-mart, Apple, and Exxon prepared the way by buying up unowned land for the core of such a settlement in advance...in essence pre-staging a sort of coup while the movement works on American opinion? If this sounds crazy, then maybe Zionism isnt for you. If in 2013, youre wondering why the Arabs hate us so much, it isnt because we are free, or because we are christian, or gay friendly or pro choice, or any of the other bull-shit reasons purported by the lame-stream media. They hate us because were assholes who take things that dont belong to us. For more, visit suspectedmilitant , Enjoy and share!
