Zambia’s Title Contender Emptied Out of Barclays Cup Two MTN Super League sides contending for the MTN league title were Sunday afternoon humbled and emptied out of the third and fourth quarterfinal matches of the Barclays cup tournament. In the first game it was Zanaco who got humiliated over underrated konkola blades who beat them one nil while Power Dynamos had their neighbours to blame for sending them back to Kitwe in the first round of the tournament. And power dynamos coach tenant Chilumba expressed displeasure at his side’s loss. Chilumba said his team did not play according to his plans but he will now start focussing on the next game in the league. Ronald Kampamba put Nkana ahead in the 18th minute before Kelvin Mubanga added a second for the Kitwe outfit after a well taken free kick. Meanwhile, Nkana Coach Beston Chambeshi expressed happiness at his team performance and qualification to the semi finals of the Barclays cup tournament. Power became disadvantaged numerically after Billy Mutale was sent off for a second bookable offence when he brought down lottie Nyimbiri. Hitman Alex Ng’onga had a lot of chances but could not manage to redeem his side who continue being wasteful in front of Rabson Muchelen’ganga. In the early kick off of the tournament Konkala blades humbled Zanaco after a 78th strike from Humphrey maseneko which saw the chililabombwe outfit get a spot in the Barclays cup semi final. The two teams join Zesco united and Napsa Stars who eliminated Mufulira Wanderers and Lusaka Dynamos respectively. zambiareports/2014/09/15/zambias-title-contender-emptied-barclays-cup/
