Zane, I grew up in S.E. D.C. and I thought we had it ruff but after reading this I was in complete shock and blessed. I was about to move to Chicago but im glad I didnt. Let me know your views on this and I wonder what can be done to save our youth. thedailybeast/articles/2014/04/29/chicago-s-teen-girl-ganglord-real-life-lil-snoop.html MY RESPONSE: This is truly sad and I actually believe that her mother did the best she probably could under the circumstances. She had to work and had to allow her daughter to go to school, which she did because of the cap and gown photo. I am not sure where the cycle will end, or if it will end at all. Violence is so glorified by society across the board, from the YouTube videos of girls fighting that go viral to millions of households to the fights among women on TV that are glorified by the media. Sharkisha or whatever her name is damn near became a household name and a search term on Google for attacking another young lady. People believe that violence is the key to something, not sure what. This is a very frightening article and I am going to keep this young lady who is deceased, her mother, and all the families living in Chicago in my prayers. I would be terrified to send my children out of the house in these conditions. It breaks my heart, quite honestly.
