Zeilen door de poolnacht: REALTIME 31 aug 2013 De wind trekt zich niks aan van werktijden. Gisteravond om 8 uur kwam er een zacht windje opzetten dat de Mae West van Vesteraolen Z-waarts naar het Vestfjord ging brengen. De horizon in het Noorden bleef de hele nacht zachtjes roodgloeien. De hemel boven ons was om 10 uur donker genoeg dat we het zwakke Noorderlicht in wilde banen zagen voorbij trekken. Later waren de groene gaswolken overal te zien. De Mae West zeilde bijna zonder geluid te maken met 5 knop door de nacht. Om 4 uur, we waren inmiddels op het Vestfjord, kwam de rode ochtendgloed al weer over het grillige Lofoten silhouet. Yesterday night around 8 a mellow wind came to bring the Mae West from Vesteraolen S-wards to the Vestfjord. A soft purple glow stayed on the Northern horizon all night. After 10 the skies above us where so dark dat we could saw the first thin Northern light moving over. Later the green clouds appeared everywhere. The Mae West sailed silently with a soft 5 knots trough the night.
