Zoom, zoom, zoom! Carter students started last week off by making super-fast, balloon-powered cars with Ms. Laurie from Sloan. Other students put their creative caps on as they teamed up to invent a never-before-seen product, complete with an infomercial to promote it: “Are you tired of spending time combing your hair, cleaning your ears, and scratching your back separately? Why not just do all three simultaneously!” The products and promos were priceless. The Awesome Artists discussed what happens when oil and water are put together and then used that knowledge to create masterpieces using oil pastels and watercolors. Students went on an outdoor adventure at Ligon; they trekked up and down many hills, through the woods, and all the way to the fossil digging area where they discovered treasures such as bones, shells, and gems. At the end of the week, everyone put their bodies in motion by playing soccer, basketball, Frisbee, or jumping rope.
