Zurich’s Property Claims team received notification of a new, potentially large fire claim for the Forest Lakes Junior Rugby Union Club, home of the Wasps in QLD. The clubhouse had been damaged as a result of an arson attack. On receipt of the claim, a loss adjuster was sent to the site as a matter of urgency to get a feel for the extent of the damage and what was required to get this community organisation up and running again. The club’s main concern was that they would have to cancel the games scheduled to be played but more importantly a fundraising event held at the club on the following weekend. Zurich was able to accept the claim and provide immediate approval for make safe and restoration works. The club was able to proceed with the planned activities.
