Son #1 and I are waiting on a flight delay at DFW that will rival our actual flight time back to Sactown. Good times. In between $9 sandwiches, were sitting close to the desk so we can hear our fellow passengers complaints to the kind flight crew. Today I am introducing him to people theater. One guy demanded a plane instantly. My mothers standard response to requests like that was to fire back sure, Ive got one in my pocket. My son and I have a $5 bet on when/if a gate agent resorts to that. ( I wont blame them if that happens and Ill have an 8 year olds tooth fairy money to boot.) Another guy seemed surprised to discover he was #4 vs #1 on the upgrade list for the plane that, at this point, doesnt even exist. We enjoyed listening to his reasons why he should be more important than he apparently is. Good luck with that. We choose how we react with inconveniences like this. We can get angry and vent to people who truly cant change the situation. (Hello #4!) Or, you can concede to the $9 sandwich and choose to enjoy the additional 3 hrs (at least) of unplanned one on one time with your kid. Now, if you dont see me tomorrow at 5am...
