Zvemumagitare part 27 POST PRODUCTION Have you ever wondered why most live dvd discs by proffesional musicians have such a flawless sound,everything sounds perfect.The artist perfoms a lot of songs &he&his band never seem to make mistakes,can all bands be that perfect?&you ask yourself why when you record your praise&worship session in church it sounds terrible when you play it back,all the mistakes are very clear&the sound is so unbalanced,what causes the difference? Well,let me let out the secret,its all because of a process known as post production.When a proffesional band is recording live,every single track will be recorded separately in a proffesional studio console into separate tracks to make it possible to mix&edit the music later,when the show is over thats when part2 of the work begins. At this stage the sound is properly edited&all parts where the band made mistakes will be edited out and the people who made mistakes will be called to come fix their errors,if the singer sang a wrong note he will be called to re-sing it in the studio,after all the mistakes are fixed,it is properly mixed,then mastered then its ready for selling or for broadcasting. Manje most videos of praise&worship sessions done in Zimbabwean churches only the visuals(pictures) are re-edited,&usually the pictures are edited on the spot,the sound is usually left as it is&thats where we lose it,thats why if you watch our gospel channels you hear a lot of mistakes in the live p/worship music,so churches must invest in full post production equipment &stop giving us music that is painful to listen to at gospel music channels.
