after a great film shoot yesterday, I learned that I think Id like a camcorder thats just easy to grab and film fun behind the scenes stuff with no fuss (yep, a DOWNGRADE HAHA!) but its been a long time since I had a camcorder. guessing a lot has changed. something that fits in your hand, MAYBE in HD if it exists? (would be good to film jam nights on a tripod too), but my main thing (that you will probably hate) is that I want it if possible to save clips in the same .mov format as my 550ds. Reason? because it works. we have other little tiny cameras that the audio and video is all out of sync and we have to shift it 7 frames left or right on every single clip, its a nightmare. but the 550d .mov format just works. so yeah any suggestions on something cheap and cheerful that you reckon might be able to do that? :P
