...and so my chickens are now engaging in high risk behavior. Feeling adventurous, Monkey-the-alpha-chicken decided to toss caution to the wind and fly her coop this morning while Miko was cruising the backyard. While I certainly admire a chicken with a hutzpuh, Im pretty sure my neighbors did NOT appreciate hearing me scream like Janet Leigh in Psycho as I intervened in natures order of things - still- I juuuuust managed to interrupt the circle of life. It appears Monkey-the alpha-chicken is, while traumatized, uninjured with the exception of her dignity. Miko is not happy with me AT ALL.
