ann wynd is a 76 yr old woman who has been thru hell. she lives on a small holding just outside Falkirk. she lived there with her husband andy and their collection of animals, dogs, sheep, horses,donkeys. her husband was ill. he has beent hru open heart surgery and in anns own words had never recovered from that and he came down with cancer in his pancreas. ann is a small frail old lady who was looking after him and all her animals alone. when he was in hospital she spent up to 8 hrs a day away from the property.they were a quiet couple who seem to have kept to themselves and lived their life to rescue animals. she never said no to an animal in need. she was out feeding her animals one morning came in to find her husband dead :( she rang the dr who came out. it wasnt her dr so he didnt have andys history and immediately said suspicious death and rang the police. ann was arrested while her husband lay dead on the floor. she was sat in a police van on her property.the police called sspca in who came and used catch poles to get the dogs while her husband lay dead on the floor. ann was in the van listning to her animals scream and howl in fear. some dogs were pts there and then so were some horses. all anns animals were old. one horse murdered by sspca was 30 yrs old. you dont get horses to that age if you neglect them. ann was released by police and left at home with dead animals bodies on her property the sspca didnt remove. she lost her husband and most her animals in one day. the sspca came back days later to take the rest and had cheek to complain abut the dead horse int he stable. ann was distraught she walked ontot he moors and tried to kill herself.sspca didnt try stop her however the police went after her with police dogs and found her. she was sectioned fr 7 weeks. in that time people raided her property. they stole everything and what they couldnt take they demolished. she had water pouring in due to thedamage to pipes so by time she got home after 7 weeks in hospital her house was ruined.everything had to be thrown out. she has boarded off half her house she dosnt use it. just living room and kitchen and bathroom. she dosnt have any proper heating. she is cold her house is sparse. the courts have awarded her back some of her animals 4 dogs and 4 sheep. she has further hearing to get horses back. ann didnt neglect her animals she did the best she could with no help. she admits she did have to many for her to cope. all she is guilty of is growing old and struggling. yes some of her animals were in a bad way. and her house was dirty.but most of the animals the sspca said were sufferingwere under going vet treatment. its a sad case and weare trying to help ann fix up her land so the animals and herself will be safe and reunited. iv met ann a tiny frail old woman whos life is her animals. she just needs help. people are makingout she is a monster. thats far from the truth. she lost everything that day I can only imagine how she is feeling. we have fences to fix roofs to fix areas to clear. loads of things to fix up. I want to give ann some hope and make her home and land happy again for her and her animals.
