another young man in Preston loses his life due to an apparent stabbing....what a waste of young life, not just for the victim but for the perpetrator and both their families too.....wtf is wrong with these young men that they cant see or judge the consequences of their actions? i still say bring National Service back, it would go a long way to resolving a whole lot of anti social issues...discipline being the first, respect for their comrades, and more importantly respect for themselves...the way i see it is that surely we should be trying to turn these young people around for the better, give them a chance to make good....its ok giving them a prison sentence, but they come out twice as bad as they went in...whats the point in that? They need a purpose in life instead of running round in packs doing nothing except provoking trouble, all for the wonderful title of GANG MEMBER status. We should give the old fashioned rights back to school teachers because in some cases thats the only place their ever going to learn ANY discipline, bring Youth Clubs back, it gives them a sense of freedom and responsibility with a some what free rein but in a supervised environment where the greater good influences their behaviour...ok it wont change things overnight but it would go a long way towards the better mind set of future generations...it worked for most of us who are of a certain age...we need to rewind about 40 yrs to see where and why weve gone so wrong in our society....just my own personal view! :(
