as you know... our community arts initiatives are very much inspired by our work in Cuba!! Heres an amazing example of a Community arts project that changed lives in Cuba. This is the house of an artist name Fuster... This beautiful mosaic actually spreads throughout the whole neighborhood. A major consequence of the us embargo on the Cuba is economic struggle, this one neighborhood in particular was on the outskirts of Havana, and was struggling deeply during and after the special period (or recession) in Cuba. A sculptor who lived there named Fuster was curious as to how he could use his skillset as an artist improve the quality of lives of his neighbors... So he began this major community project to turn the neighborhood into art... He created jobs, brought in tourism, and lifted the spirits of those during a very difficult time. #cuba #fuster #art Remember!
