ashraf I have little faith in writings that use high verbosity and emotional conclusions. Is the whole world really interested in the Sudan, as the writer of this post would want us to blieve? I know USA and several western countries like Britain and France would be interested in the Sudan. However, that interest does not sometimes go beyond economics. For instance, what interest a country like Norway has in the Sudan? Norway is awash in oil and its economy is No1 in the world, in terms of per capita income. Since our governments have abadoned them for decades, Norway has fed the people of the South for decades until the present moment; it cannot do that without agencies on the ground. I hope you people have heard about the UN Operations Lifeline Sudan (OLS), which began operations as early as 1985. And you all very well know that UN does not own farms, from which it can feed the hungry around the world. The OLS was run for almost thirty years by the donors such as the USA, Britain, Norway, Japan, Sweden etc. The western humanitarian agencies are therefore in the South because they do precisely what our Northern governments have abdicated for almost fifty years. If there is any school or health center running in the South today, it is run by these agencies. So I do not understand this idle talk about foreign intelligence making the South its headquarters.
