...attempted a 16 mile run. The bad news is that at mile 4, a car ran a stop sign and I hit them, hit the ground, skinned my left knee and twisted my right ankle. I sat down and assessed the damage. After a while, I decided to keep going the 4 miles to my destination (the Zoo, 8 miles from home). My foot hurt a little but not too bad. I walked some, jogged some. Eventually.... I got to the Zoo, sat down and had some food and water. After about a half hour I noticed that my ankle was swelling. When I stood up to assess the situation.... OUCH! So I sat down and thought what am I going to do? Im stuck at my job, on my day off, 8 miles from home. Maybe I will post on FB... who wants to give me a ride? Then I remembered the GOOD NEWS... there is a new business in town called Lyft. I went online looked up Lyft, downloaded the Lyft App and BOOM!... within 10 minutes there was a Lyft driver at the Zoo ready to pick me up and drive me home. When You sign up... You get 10 free rides for the 1st 2 weeks, after that its like a $1.50 per mile. Quicker and cheaper than a cab. I recieved the registered drivers photo, a photo of his car and his license plate #. The nice man gave me a ride home and I tipped him $5. This service is becoming more and more popular as more people hear about it. I will be using it again. p.s. my ankle will be ok, now that Im laying on my couch, not running back home. Im currently watching a documentary about Buddhism and the nature of suffering. It says that everything is suffering and everything is impermanent... which include my health... but also my suffering AND Yours. Have a nice day... and hit like if ya wanna.... I know its not because You like that I got hurt, but You like that Im going to be OK.
