#bedtimethoughts... nativity... the holy family is the most favorite icon of Christmas which to most of us is an image of a magical scene but contrary to common perception of a happy image perceived by many of us...the Biblical account of the nativity is the opposite view of happiness by the majority of us....let us be reminded that the first noel...where Jesus Christ was born is surrounded by a miserable situation and condition...our Lord and Savior was born in a animal stable as suggested by the accounts of St. Luke in his writings...Mary gave birth to Jesus and wrapped him in cloths and placed him in a manger, because there was no guest room available for them...and Jesus visitors were the lowly shepherds who were living out in the fields nearby, keeping watch over their flocks at night...Apostle Matthew accounted the visitation of magi who upon seeing the child Jesus bowed down and worshiped Him...and opened their treasures and presented Him with gifts of gold, frankincense and myrrh...I believe that this where the custom of giving of gifts during Christmas had truly come from instead of the view of a beard fat man in red from north pole with his flying sleigh with full pack of gifts for the less fortunate... I just want to take note to the true representation of the nativity where there is the presence of famous star...which in science there could be no other star moving fast in heaven except for a comet....which also appeared during the journey of the magi to guide them and traditionally a comet stands for a bad thing to happen...there is also the presence of lamb in nativity...a shepherd in entire Biblical accounts...the shepherd is the perfect sacrifice to atone mans sin and receive forgiveness...but by doing so the lamb has to give its life and be dead...and in the gifts of the magi where there was gold to indicate Jesus kingship...an incense which signify His divinity but there was the myrrh also...which is an element being used to preserved a dead body...which foretold His death on the cross... Truly the nativity is a very solemn and pleasing scenario nowadays...but it has full of symbolism that tells different story...its true meaning is beyond the happiness of Christmas celebration in material context...it is Gods fulfillment of His promise to give mankind a Savior because He loves us His creation...and that is through Jesus Christ, His only begotten Son...whose by dying on the cross we will be redeemed from all our sins...hence it is the true meaning of the nativity...the birth of Jesus Christ and His prophesied death to save us....He is the perfect and absolute Gift of God to all those who believed in Him...and this is the nativity which have long forgotten due to the impact of commercialism of the Christmas holiday....As we rejoice...eat good foods...and receive earthly gifts this December 25th let us not forget what the nativity truly tells us about it...that God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him. Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe stands condemned already because they have not believed in the name of God’s one and only Son. goodnite guys and God bless us all...Merry Christmas to each and everyone of you... ...@xelyeser photos taken from Enchanted Kingdom...
