#bookreview/edit Finally, the long anticipated book--THE CURSE FROM MY MOTHER—is ready and waiting to be published. This is my first book and I already started working on the second one. This book is a 154 pages long memoir divided into 3 parts. Anyone willing to help review/edit this book is welcome to send me their emails and I will send them a copy. I am not sensitive to criticism but I will be glad if it is a constructive criticism. This book narrates the life story of my mother and crisscrosses to my own personal life as well. It details the journey of my mother’s teenage life growing up as a young woman in a village where the worth and value of women are subdue to the success of men. It is a trend and facts of Manago tribe and spiritual beliefs. It is a record of polygamous family and the rivalry of sister wives. And it is my own circular journey to becoming a hardcore feminist. In writing this book, I have explored both the fertile depths of my past experiences and the historical accounts of my mother who— like many women— suffered immensely in the hands of their parents, husbands and societies, face all kinds of abuses and maltreatments, and are always kept silent. Delving in to my mother’s back ground as well as some of the cultural and traditional values of manjago tribe, i recognize very well that these stories are not unique to many African families, and that it is not out of anger or fame that I write this book, nor is it to extract sympathy from readers. So, again, if you are interested and would love to review/edit, or no better ways to publish a book –especially in Gambia—send me an email on [email protected] .
