Following two years of sold out performances, the third installment of Phamaly’s all-original comedic series disLabled: Disorderly Conduct takes place in the courtroom following an incident involving protestors who are disparate, disgruntled and disabled! Is justice as blind as members of the cast? Find out for yourself! The cast includes Maryann Migliorelli (Judge Rena Sterling), Khea Craig (Officer Emily Wrench - Witness/Bailiff/Court Reporter/ASL Interpreter), Priscilla Carlson (Ada Boettcher - Prosecutor), Deb Conley (Kathleen Weiss - Defense), Dale Rose (Rosie Bordeaux -Witness), Dave Bahr (Ray Ochs - Defendant), Paul Migliorelli (Stanley Stosh Baglo - Defendant), Ilaula Snavely (Snucky Westerman - Defendant), Stephanie Williams (Sybil Lawrence - Defendant), Kevin Pettit (A. Terrence Pennysworth - Witness) and Melanie Bernhard (Elsie Sorden - Witness). Director Jeremy Palmer explains, As usual, many of the casts real life stories are incorporated into the story but this year, we are also exploring moving people away from just playing a version of themselves. The biggest instance of this is that half the cast is playing non-disabled characters - or at least characters whose obvious disability is never commented on directly and could be played by able bodied actors just as easily. I consider an exciting change of pace from the typical approach of every character having their actors disability. Able bodied actors play disabled all the time (more often than our company would care to count) and its time to swing that trend the other way. Another element of this years show is the courtroom setting allows us to involve audience members in the show as the jury. The jury will come up with the verdict every night. Each performance will be immediately followed by a talk back with the cast to explore the implications of this verdict for them and their characters. Now in its 25th season, Phamaly is an award-winning Colorado based Theatre Company comprised entirely of performers with a wide variety of physical, cognitive, and emotional disabilities. Phamaly’s mission is to inspire people to re-envision disability through professional theatre.
