cncjob.co.uk 31/08/13 Production Engineer/Manufacturing Engineer - Stoke-on-Trent PERMANENT ROLE - Due to continued growth we are seeking a skilled Production Engineer. We are looking for a highly motivated and organised person to be responsible for; manufacturing process improvements and new production introduction projects using lean manufacturing tools and techniques. PERSON Applicants must be qualified in an engineering or manufacturing subject and have experience in a fast moving environment such as automotive, or similar sector. The successful applicant must possess the following key attributes: Hands-on production/manufacturing experience. Lean Manufacturing experience. Evidence of problem solving and process improvement. CNC lathe, and milling experience. Gauge R&R experience and strong understanding of inspection methods. Analytical and observant. Good computer systems and software skills Strong mathematical skills Key Tasks: Ensure machining technology is in place to achieve customer standards Hands-on engineering, liaising with engineers and operators on the shop-floor to understand issues etc. Analyse &Optimise all current repeat processes in terms of cycle times, cost &quality by reducing wastage, enhance yield and reducing cost. Create systems to autonomise/de-skill running of key machines Introduce SMED systems to reduce changeover/set-up times Achieve lights-out running processes wherever possible Assist in developing and documenting new working methods for new or existing products. Ensure that Work specifications, Control plans and Work Instructions are adhered to. Ensure adherence to 5s standards Collect &analyse data as required to assist in continual improvements.
