countdown to 1st anniversary ni YOLANDA: lessons learned/resolutions made: Number ONE: the more you give, the more you receive. Proven and tested, especially after Yolanda when we basically have nothing to give away, but we still managed to give. It all started a couple of days after the ST when we found small party bags tightly tied in plastic bags, inside another plastic bag inside the flooded car (dun ko pala naitago, toink). Amazing how we found among the debris and mud, 100 small bags filled with biscuits, candies and a few toys prepared by my kids to be given away to my clients children on TCPPOs Christmas party supposedly scheduled on Dec. 2. It survived the storm surge, the flood and the wailing winds. Imagine the happiness in the faces of the kids in our neighborhood when they received bubbles, candies and biscuits on a very unlikely day, amidst the destruction and ruin of our neighborhood where hundreds of people died. Since then, the help just kept on coming. And I could not help but keep on giving..more of my time, effort, assistance or be the bridge for other people to help more of those who have less. to all of my angels on earth, salamat again and again..
