dj tony b: The National Weather Service has issued a TORNADO WATCH our listening area until 10pm Monday. Over the next few hours, a line of storms will cross I-81 and move towards the I-95 corridor and the DC-Baltimore Metro areas. Remain weather aware for the rest of the day. Severe weather safety reminders for today: #1 Never drive over a water-covered road. #2 When you first hear thunder, move to a safe location and stay indoors until the storm passes. #3 If you hear the wind come up suddenly, stay away from windows and doors. The area has seen a lot of rain in the past week so creeks and streams are already high and the ground is saturated and soft. This will increase the risk for Flash Flooding. Stay away from fast moving and/or fast rising water. These afternoon and evening storms could producing strong wind gusts. Thanks to the soft ground, there will be an increased risk of trees falling during the storms causing power outages. Stay tuned into 99.3 THE VIBE for frequent updates through the afternoon and evening.
