earlier today, tony asked me to introduce what epic was at todays event and talk about the things that we do, like prayer and worship and bible studies. I froze when I got up there and didnt really say any of that. I felt really bad. fast forward to later tonight, and benson and I shared the gospel with two girls and I was really excited. I wanted to tell everyone. I told tony and was going to tell other people when I realized that my heart was really full of pride, both from sharing the gospel and from helping pull off an asian food night of legendary attendance. because were getting so big and attracting so many people, the responsibility to engage people well, share our testimonies and be intentional about drawing people in to Gods story becomes really important for all of us. and Im finding out that I have to do it without taking pride in my own work as a human. brittany prayed for this earlier this week: as a family, we need to have a kingdom mindset that doesnt look to praise ourselves but looks to praise God. so yeah. Im working on that. something to keep in mind for the rest of welcome week: God is bringing all of these people here to these events. theyre being brought so they can hear about what God has done in our lives and what God is doing in their lives. I know that I just gotta be willing to be a part of that without being puffed up with pride, because Im a small piece of a really big plan. thanks to rachel and kir for leading the planning on this and basically everyone for pulling together. holy crap. God is good.
