This stems directly from our interpretation that exhaustion results from changes in central (brain) commands to the muscles, rather than as a result of changes in the muscles themselves.-Dr. Noakes Why does the brain reduce neural drive? To protect the body from irreversible damage. Regulating power output during any form of exercise (movement) with the ultimate goal of self preservation.
