#funfactfriday Mickey Rourke was originally cast for the role of Axel Foley in Beverly Hills Cop. After his holding contract expired he dropped from the project and the role was given to Sylvester Stallone. 2 weeks prior to filming, Stallone dropped from the project because he envisioned a harder edged Foley (an idea he used to create the movie, Cobra which FLOPPED). The role was then given to Eddie Murphy, calling for minor script changes.
