gofundme/jakeservicedog I have always been a firm believer that every kid deserves to grow up with a dog. But some children absolutely NEED one. Friends, meet Jake. Hes a friend of our friend Chris, so that makes him our friend too. Jake is 8 years old and he is autistic, diabetic, and verbally impaired. He is an outgoing, happy go lucky guy but his family needs our help. They have been trying to get Jake a service dog for years. A few years ago, they thought their dreams were finally coming true, only to later find out it was a scam that affected them and 10 other families. Feeling discouraged and unsure who to trust, they put the idea aside. Last month Jake had a seizure. Fortunately he was in bed with his mom. A service dog could have alerted her to what was happening before it even occured. This extra set of eyes will be a TREMENDOUS help to this wonderful family. I have seen the impact that Chris service dog, Argus the Autism Service Dog, has had on their family and his amazing son Matthew. Jakes family will now be going through the same reputable organization that Chris went through, called Dog Wish in Southern California. A service dog costs $15,000 which is a hefty amount, but they are trained to be the very best. Here is their website for further information and to see the wonderful work they are doing. dogwish.org/ If you or anyone you know would like to donate $1, $5, $10, $20, any amount helps them get closer to their goal. If you cant donate but would still like to help, please share to help spread the word. Ive included a great local news video about them with a lot of information, and if you read the Gofundme page theres a lot more about Jakes story. Thank you so, so much. We love you!
