Found out that while searching for a top 10 song list + a specific song (being that its written in the article), it will return me results pointing to that specific song, not to the (or any) top 10 list [Figure 1]. It snowballed into finding out it extended to blogs doing top lists. You can still search top something of anything, but Google already does the list for you, and no blogs will be returned as search results (only websites who seem to be on top of their game). [Figure 2 and 3] Even searching ones self (yes, I search myself for reputation purposes :P) elicits solely links to your social media profiles, not to articles written about you; which may be a good thing or a bad thing, depending on the personality or the reputation you or someone built around you online. But, personally, that would just mean I would have to work hard around my social media profiles, which can be very cumbersome. That, or I would finally need to create a site portfolio about.me :) [Figure 4] Or do work that would solicit publication in news sites such as ABS-CBNnews, GMA News, or Rappler (or CNN International, British Broadcasting Corporation or The Huffington Post, because why the hell not, right? :P ) [Figure 5] There are still searches that go around this problem, but you have to use very specific terms in hopes that the searcher will search for that very specific term too. [Figure 6] Anyway, this is just a general (personal) overview (for now) on what exact changes have really transpired lately when it comes to #Google search (you can totally try it though if you want to test it out), but what Im saying here is that the repercussions may be big on this one. With this, I have to say that (1) companies, now is the really HIGH time for you to optimize your site content and NOT just your blog content, and work on your social media page like whoa! and (2) bloggers, now is the time for you to change your game plan.
