here is another poem about my hobby of amateur radio Amateur Radio Take a trip with me downstairs Musty dusty basement It’s cool and dark Flick on the power supply On the ionosphere your signal will fly There is plenty of soul here Green glow from the transceiver Pale yellow illumination from the power supply Things are looking bright Soft incandescence of the desk light Spin the dial and listen for a modulating carrier Deep in the noise Static crashes atmospheric hashes But wait a faint flutter A low grumble Yes a voice is ever fairer A call sign here A signal report there Perhaps a filter that is square Dx or local When L equals C Dx for me will be Broad band dipole Or yagi with a signal that is focal Search and pounce Or sit back and call CQ for an ounce A quick QSO Or a long rag chew Or dit dah for CW is the best in my view Friends across boarders No politics or religion to mess up the order This is HF radio Just friends for a fellow Certificates and contests And all sorts of strange nets Bounce your signal around the world A message sent around the globe Radiate a pattern in a big oval lobe This is to me is amateur radio
