hey all! well, not too many updates left! hard to believe! today was a great day! the team went to two different orphanages today. one was very poor, and another quite well off, even by first world standards! the poor one is very typical of uganda. very few resources, and they basically make do with what they have-even down to growing their own food. the other is a sponsored orphanage. they receive outside support (outside the uganda government that is), and from local contributors as well. its nice to see a successful, well run, prospering orphanage, but this only highlights even more the stark contrast between wealth and poverty here. many kids whose mud huts are alongside the road are only half-clothed, and even their cloths are in tatters. yet there are those who are prosperous. i cant even imagine having no government support at all towards raising or schooling children, having a home, or food. these people literally live by the sweat of their brow, or they do not eat. most of these are the women who farm even with their babies tied to their backs. just crazy. ok, back to today before i write a novel...we came back for lunch, and then went back out to visit a secondary school where the girls did the team proud. Taylor Sinclair and Janine Irvine Blain gave their testimonies to over 1000 kids, and Faith Gitari shared a great word from ecclesiastis about sticking close to God, especially in your youth. i think most of the team have surprised themselves by speaking publically both from the word, and sharing their testimonies! something that paul says we should be able and willing to do both in season and out, especially when someone asks the reason for our hope in Jesus!!! other than that, things are going well, Claire is feeling better, and we only have another few days in Fort Portal before we have to make our way back to Entebbe! we are having a healing and deliverance service tomorrow-should be....interesting and eye opening to say the least!!! lovin it! lol.
