how do you see chance for successful break-out if the whole 6th army would get the order to attack towards to meet spearheads of group army don -apparently in southern sector some units were prepared for breakout,the order has never been issued,neither Hitler nor Manstein who was in charge of Group army don and potentially could take a gamble and order to Paulus to slam down with everything towards russian defense in a last desperate chance to get freedom and safe the 6th army. How do you see this?? also how do you see an independent action which could be undertaken by Manstein who could give that order but in telex to Paulus said that an authorization cannot be given, Probably German fieldmarschal wasnt ready to bear responsibility for this as it could be quite risky and could put his career in serious jeopardy. However do you think?? If 6th army thrust in common with group army don would it bring considerable profits and unfold drifts of events to avert tragedy of the 6th army?? after linking up with the relief forces would you see any chance to maintain the defiance and take an initiative into Germans hand?? or Red Army was already too strong and regrouped too much reserves to let this bold plan to happen??
