https://youtube/watch?v=FxUau-rowSc Im not saying i agree with every single word John Crowder says, but what i so appreciate about him is that he hasnt let all of his studies get in the way of a beautiful, childlike faith that allows the Holy Spirit to not be quenched or grieved. How many churches exist out there that, for fear of a counterfeit...out of paranoia..pletely reject and shut out and deny the power of God? How many souls never get to know Jesus because of this great error? How many, for whom Jesus died, never get to experience healing in their bodies because so many churches teach their people that this kind of thing is not of God? When Jesus walked the earth, He destroyed the works of the devil...His presence was about an inbreaking Kingdom...the Kingdom of God, which is not of this world. His eternal Kingdom was breaking through and as a result, the sick were healed, demons were cast out, hearts were changed, God was glorified and peoples lives were transformed. When all of this gets reduced to mere ideas or dogma, a hungry world seeks out counterfeits to sate their spiritual hunger. It is a sad state of affairs when the occult and all manner of eastern religions have more demonstrations of counterfeit power and reality because the Church has forfeited her God-given authority out of fear of deception. It is a very sad state of affairs when anyone who does dare to step out of the boat and be childlike of heart enough to actually believe what the Bible says and step out to walk on the water with Jesus gets either ridiculed by fellow believers, or worse, labelled as a deceiver. As a result, we are left with a powerless Church that is not drawing the lost like it should be. It was by the power of the Holy Spirit...by the anointing and not by mere convincing human words and arguments that Peter (an uneducated fisherman) was able to preach and see 3,000 converted in a single day. The determining factor with these men was not their lofty educations or their own ability...it instead had EVERYTHING to do with the fact that they had been with Jesus. Yes, they knew Him. The Hebrew mindset that influenced the early Church embraced the belief that a person does not truly know something until they experience it and understand it. However, for the last few centuries western Christians have lived their Christianity from a Greek mindset which reduces understanding or knowing to mere cognitive reasoning. Many have bought into a lie perpetuated by the enemy that intends to dumb down people until their relationship with God is nothing more than reading a historic book. But you cannot have relationship without experience...that is impossible. Although we are not to worship experience itself, it is only by experience we come to learn and know the One we are in relationship with. The Church has often reacted with unhealthy extremes because of failing to understand all that God made available to us. We often labelled as deception things that were true. We have sometimes had more faith in the devils ability to deceive than in Gods ability to keep us in the truth.
