i didnt know it was possible to hate my school so much. so since im taking an AP class online, i need 2 textbooks for it. the school has made us order the wrong textbook THREE TIMES for it now, putting me over 3 months behind. meaning i probably wont take the AP exam because its in May and theres no way im finishing a 10 month AP course in 7 months. so my mom got a call from our principal the other day and the principal pretty much blamed us. he said that we knew there were going to be issues with the online course (which was never mentioned) and so my mom told them that this is the first year that i have hated school and thanked them for that and that the school is more worried on test scores than anything else. they said they had no idea why i thought the schools more focused on test scores. REALLY? because last time i remember i was told that since i am already college-ready that i now need to focus on being career-ready by taking classes all in the same career path, but i didnt HAVE to, it just gets them more money for the school when i am. we also took an entire week out of our normal english assignments to review our test scores and categorize each question for the PLAN test so that we would score higher on the ACT. my ACT scores do determine my future, but the great thing is that i can retake the ACT as many times as i want and theyll take my highest scores. what i cant do is tell you half the answers on that test because i havent been taught. yet i could tell you about 20 different testing strategies that we take time out of our day in class to practice instead of learning the actual material we are being tested over. i just really hate my school ok. they care more about test scores than the actual students and its pathetic. and after they said they didnt know why i thought theyre more worried about test scores, they blamed my mom because she works in the school system and said that im probably getting the idea they focus too much on test scores from her. lol wrong because my mom is a PLANT OPERATOR AT A BEHAVIORAL SCHOOL. SHE HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH ANY ACADEMICS, IN FACT HER ENTIRE SCHOOL FOCUSES ON BEHAVIOR, NOT ACADEMICS. ok rant over, im very mad and hate my school and ps, BE students, they dont do anything for you unless your parents get involved, just a heads up if you have any issues. :-)
